Say Hello To Carmen!

Well, it’s really excellent that many of our customers (retailers) are asking us when they can order our new products…but, I said, “I need to finish my sneak peeks first!” So, speeding things along, here’s my final peek at our third new set of paper and diecuts: Carmen’s Collection.
Unlike the other two collections, Carmen’s does not have a namesake. It’s just a name I’ve always loved and evokes thoughts of drama, love, good humor, and passion, (like the opera, minus the tragedy).
Please have a look at some of my Carmen’s projects, and remember to comment if you want to be in the random drawing for this collection.

Here's Ruth!

This is a peek at the second of our three new 2009 product releases: Ruth's Collection.
Feminine, flirty, and a bit old-fashioned--these designs inspired me to name the collection after my grandma Ruth. Oh yes, and lavender! Lavender vases, lavender walls, lavender, lavender, everywhere--a color I will always associate with Grandma. :)
Ruth's patterns also have a fabric look.
I hope you enjoy some of my creations with this collection, and get inspired to make some of your own!

I designed and named this brand new collection after my sister and best friend, Evelyn. The patterns are cheerful, colorful, a little bit retro—and very fun to combine! The designs also have the textured look of fabric, which is something I love.

I’ve been busy, busy, busy making projects with the three new collections we’re introducing at the Winter ’09 CHA show in a couple of weeks!
We’re not quite ready to show off EVERYTHING from our new lines, but I did want to share this project to give you a sense of the fun colors and designs of our new products.
I filled this cute window box full of diecut flowers from each of the 3 collections. Each collection has a 12X12 “Pretty Pieces” diecut sheet which includes bunches of sweet flowers and a few other decorative accents. The title on the front of the box is from another set of our diecuts (“Scribbled Sentiments”). I taped the flowers to some thin floral wire and poked them down into some foam and glued on a few buttons here and there to add dimension.
I love how all the colors and patterns create such a cheerful display!
Some of our new patterned paper also shows through behind the windows of the box. I have to say the paper in these collections is my favorite so far…I’ll be showing it off soon, so check back often!

Wonderful Winter Cards

Baby, it's cold outside! (At least it is here....brr!) Luckily, I've got plenty of indoor projects to keep me busy--and I think I'll add making a few cards to my list. I'm so inspired by these cute cards Charity Hassel made, that I'm almost glad it's winter! :)



I'm sure you'll enjoy them too! Here are Charity's supply lists if you'd like to create similar cards:
Brrr card--
 Supplies: Scribble Scrabble colorful flakes and stripes, Rosy winterwonderland, Frosty winterwonderland, Pine and blue spruce patterned papers. Scribble Scrabble Suzy Snowflake chippers. MAMBI gems, Harmonie snowflake button. Rusty Pickle chipboard snowflake and trees. Reminisce frosted phrase rubon.
Winter card--
Supplies: Bazzill cardstock, Scribble Scrabble Indigo mix, Blue doodads, Pine and spruce, Merry and bright patterned paper. Scribble Scrabble Indigo chipper chipboard. Maya Road felt bird. EK Success brads, Harmonie snowflake button. Reminisce frosted phase and snowflake rubons, acrylic paint from craft store.
Cold hands, Warm hearts card--
Supplies: Scribble Scrabble Rosy winterwonderland, Frosty winterwonderland, colorful flakes and stripes patterned paper. Harmonie ribbon. Melissa Frances glittered chipboard, Bisous chipboard heart, Cosmo Cricket chipboard. Doodlebug Designs rubons. Swarovski crystals.

Let It Snow!

When January rolls around and it is time to take down the Christmas decorations, our house always seems to look so bare. Then, the January blahs set in, the days are so short and the weather is cold and dreary. To counteract that feeling this year, I decided to keep some of my more “wintery” decorations on display so I made this “Let it Snow” frame using some of the wonderful Suzie Snowflake collection. I love the contrast in colors with this collection, the blues, greens and reds make for some very fun Christmas/Winter pages and home décor projects.

Christmas Creativity

Christmas time is here again. Time to bring out the decorations, and make some new ones too!




I pulled out my Suzy Snowflake collection of paper, diecuts, and chipboard stickers, and went to work on covering a plain wooden "cd holder" house into a Chritsmas card holder. I used Modge Podge to adhere the paper to the wood, and layered on an extra coat for additional protection and shine. I added the chipboard stickers last. I think it's a fun little holiday house, and is a great place to put cards as we receive them.
Melissa Ackerman had some fun with the Suzy Snowflake papers too! She used Sparkle Modge Podge to adhere paper pieces to a pointe shoe---SOOOO cute! Then she covered the whole thing with a couple of layers of clear acrylic sealer.
